About the Journal

History

The Mythos Journal was founded in 2008 at Faculdades Integradas de Cataguases (FIC), with its inaugural edition published in print. Since 2009, the journal has maintained a biannual publication schedule, releasing two issues each year. Data from the print editions are available HERE.

In 2018, Faculdades Integradas de Cataguases (FIC) became part of the UNIS Educational Group. Following this transition, from the second semester of 2018 onward, Mythos has been published exclusively in digital format.

The UNIS Educational Group is maintained by the Fundação de Ensino e Pesquisa do Sul de Minas (FEPESMIG) and currently has units in the cities of Três Pontas (MG), Pouso Alegre (MG), and São Lourenço (MG). The headquarters of both the UNIS Educational Group and its maintaining organization (FEPESMIG) are located in Varginha (MG), where the Centro Universitário do Sul de Minas - UNISMG, a part of the UNIS Educational Group, is also based.

Following the closure of the UNIS Group's Cataguases Unit in 2023, editorial management of Mythos was transferred to the Research Department of the Centro Universitário do Sul de Minas – UNISMG, beginning in January 2024.

Focus and Scope

Mythos is an interdisciplinary scientific journal dedicated to disseminating high-quality research across a wide range of academic fields. Its mission is to foster dialogue among different areas of knowledge, encouraging innovative perspectives and collaborative approaches.

We welcome original research articles, systemnatic literature review, case studies, and essays that contribute to advancing interdisciplinary scholarship and that align with our commitment to bridging theory and practice.

Open Access Policy

Mythos is an open access journal, ensuring that all published content is freely available online without subscription fees or paywalls. Authors retain the copyright to their work and grant the journal a license to publish under a Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) license, which allows others to share and adapt the work, provided proper credit is given.

Sponsorship and Funding

The journal is sponsored and maintained by the Centro Universitário do Sul de Minas - UNISMG through the UNIS Educational Group. No article processing charges (APCs) or submission fees are required from authors.

Indexing and Archiving

Mythos Journal (ISSN 1984-0098) is classified as B2 in the Education and Interdisciplinary categories of the Qualis-CAPES 2017–2020 evaluation. It is in the process of indexing with major Brazilian and international databases.

To ensure long-term digital preservation, the journal participates in the LOCKSS system, which allows libraries to collect, preserve, and restore access to its content if needed.

Closing Remarks
